Scania teamed up with Sony for a driver-centric smartwatch[Sponsored Video]

Scania is known truck manufacturers in Sweden and to even improve its trucking technologies the company had just outed its first-ever smartwatch in partnership with Sony —-aimed for truck drivers.

The Scania Watch which is ideally called the “Black Griffin” which are limited to initial 999 units is based from a Sony SmartWatch 3 which is especially designed to feature those interesting driver-centric software additions. It’s the very first offering in this space and we might be looking for a product that could be developed not for just truck drivers in the near future.

Under the shell of the Scania Watch, you could find everything on what’s within the Sony SmartWatch 3. It has a 1.6-inch 320×320 transflective display touchscreen while running the Android Wear from a processing power of a 1.2GHz quad-core chip supported by a 512MB of built-in memory. There will be 4GB of internal storage, 420mAh of battery and it’s IP68 certified, which means that it’s tested as water-splash resistant.

The unique thing about the smartwatch is its “Scania FMS Integration” which connects you to your truck. Connected to your truck system, you’ll have an instant overview of its current fuel, AdBlue levels and time-framed comparative fuel consumption data so you can compare to improve your driving efficiency. There are also big data-like driver score card which holds transport metric details like average distance, speed from your daily and weekly transports.

The Scania Watch is now available at the company’s online store in which you can enjoy three watch faces(2 digital and 1 analog) for only €295.
