The fastest car in the world, the blazing title was once owned by one of the most popular car worldwide the SSC Ultimate Aero. However, suddenly the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport steals the limelight that claims as the most powerful, expensive and yet the fastest of all cars in the world.

The SSC Ultimate Aero will be discontinued to make way for the new flagship that has been officially called as the Tuatara. The company’s internet reputation management would seem fit to give the Ultimate Aero the grandest exit through a special edition with the Ultimate Aero XT.

The special edition Ultimate Aero XT will be running a 6.9 liter twin-turbo V8 engine fitted with a 7-speed gearbox with paddle shifters making 1,300-hp and 1,004 lb-ft of torque. With this setup under-the-hood, the Aero XT is capable of 0 to 62 mph in just 2.65 seconds with a top speed of 273 mph.

Before the Tuatara hits the road, getting the SSC Ultimate Aero XT will be a collector’s item later on for the car will come to a very limited production of five units. Though no pricing details officially announced, the XT will sure be sure to be out with a hefty price tag.
