2013 Acura ILX

Making its debut at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show is the new 2013 Acura ILX which features designs and styles that Generation Y (successful individuals at the age of 20s and 30s) buyers would want for their first luxury car.

The 2013 Acura ILX comes with three trim levels. The base model comes with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine capable of making 150 hp at 6,500 rpm with 140 lb-ft of torque at 4,300 rpm. Mated to a Sequential SportShift 5-speed automatic transmission, the ILX 2.0L delivers an EPA estimated 24/32 mpg (city/highway).

While the second trim provides more power with its 2.4L 4-cylinder engine making 201 hp at 7,000 rpm and 170 lb-ft of torque at 4,300 rpm. The power is manage by a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission that delivers an EPA estimated 20/29 mpg.

Lastly is the brand’s first-ever gas-electric hybrid which features Honda’s 1.5L engine coupled with an Integrated Motor Assist electric motor. The electric-motor is propelled by a lithium-ion battery pack that enables it to output 20 hp. Together, the system produces 111-hp at 5,500 rpm and 127 lb-ft between 1,000-3,000 rpm. Mated to a CVT transmission, the Acura ILX 1.5L Hybrid averages an outstanding 35/38 mpg.

Inside, the 2013 Acura ILX comes standard with Keyless Access System with smart entry and push-button start, along with Pandora internet radio interface and SMS text message function. Buyers can add up the Premium Package which offers leather heated seats, an upgraded 360 watt stereo system, a rear view camera and an Active Sound Cancellation system for a quieter cabin. Or the Technology Package which adds an ELS Surround audio system, AcuraLink Satellite Communication System, Acura Navigation System with Voice Recognition, AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic with Traffic Rerouting, AcuraLink Real-Time Weather with radar image maps and an onboard 60GB hard drive.

Price for the 2013 Acura ILX will be announced sooner as it go on sale later this year.
