The 2009 Volkswagen Polo was a completely new model that was greatly revamped from the 2008 model. Many find this to be a terrific option when looking for their next used car. The body has been redesigned to not only be lower but also to be wider as well. The horizontal grille is smaller but still quite stylish. The rear lighting of the 2009 Volkswagen Polo has been designed in an L-shape. In Europe, there is a three door as well as a five door model. Both of course are hatchbacks.

Consumers also have a wide range of engines from which to choose. There are two different 1.2 litre engines with three cylinders. One of these is capable of creating 60 hp and the other 70 hp. There is also a 1.4 litre option which can produce 85 hp. Another engine option is a turbo-diesel. These are three types of these all having 1.6 litre engines. One model can generate 75 hp, another creates 90 hp and the third has 105 hp. Another performance engine to be found in the 2009 Volkswagen Polo is a 1.4 litre TSI. This turbocharged engine is quite powerful and ideal for the consumer who wants more of a performance car.

Unlike many other economy cars, driving the Polo does not make you feel like you’re sacrificing quality. The car drives quite comfortable and is quiet. While the 2009 Volkswagen Polo has not had its interior dimensions increased overall, the engineers altered the proportions somewhat to allow for a bit more shoulder room. However, for long legged passengers in the back seat, the ride may feel a bit cramped. This is now a cheap Volkswagen polo, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to get a bargain of a car.

Crash testing ratings on the 2009 Volkswagen Polo have turned out quite well. In a crash test conducted by the Euro-NCAP, the 2009 Volkswagen Polo earned five stars which is the top rating that a car can earn. Another benefit to owning a ’09 Polo is that tests have shown it also has a 15% less side impact intrusion than the 2008 Polo. Another improvement is that the front foot area of the car sustains 50% less instruction from a frontal collision. When you buy a used 2009 Volkswagen Polo, you know you’re getting a safe car for you and your family.
