2011 Audi S7 Sportback

Audi has released its entire S line up at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the new S6, S7 and the top-of-the-line S8.

Let’s talk about the one in the middle, the Audi S7 Sportback, the sport version of the A7 Sportback. The new S7 Sportback offers a new and more powerful engine compare to one that was used with A7 that can only make 296 hp. The S7 has the new 4.0L TFSI engine (same engine used with S6 and S6 Avant) capable of producing 420 hp  and 405.66 lb-ft of torque and only consumes an average just 9.7 liters of fuel per 100 km (24.25 US mpg). Mated to a 7-speed S tronic transmission system the A7 Sportback can sprints from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds with a top speed limited to 250 km/h. The S7 Sportback runs with Audi quattro permanent all-wheel drive system with a self-locking center differential and torque vectoring.

For the exterior the new S7 Sportback offers some subtle changes which include a new modified front grille, front bumper, side mirrors, side sills, rear bumper, diffuser, quad tail pipes and a set of 19-inch wheels (can be upgraded to 20-inch). Its body is coated with an option of nine different colors (including; Estoril Blue, crystal effect and Prism Silver, crystal effect) and decorated with S and V8 T badges.

While inside, the new S7 offers sport seats dressed in Pearl Nappa leather and Alcantara, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and lots of decorative trims like the S badges, the red ring on the start-stop button, the S7 logo in the illuminated door sill trims, the aluminum strip on the S tronic selector lever and the aluminum shift paddles.

Delivery of the S7 Sportback is scheduled to begin in spring 2012. Among the standard equipment highlights are the xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights, the driver information system with color display and the versatile MMI radio plus audio and operating system.
