Celebrated its debut at the 2011 New York Auto Show is Volkswagen AG‘s classic all-electric Microbus, the Volkswagen Bulli Concept featuring a two-box design to compete against the likes of Scion xB and the Kia Soul.

The Volkswagen Bulli Concept is powered by an electric motor making 114 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque. It can sprints from 0-60 mph in 11.4 seconds with a top speed of 87 mph. The electric motor is fueled by a lithium-ion battery pack that allows to travel a total of 186.4 miles in between charges.

The Bulli can accommodate up to six passengers with its very spacious and airy construction. It also features an infotainment system that’s solely controlled by an Apple iPad.

If put into production Volkswagen Bulli will be the first fully electric car in its segment.
