At the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show, Yulon Motor, Taiwan’s largest automaker has unleashed its Luxgen Neora Concept; an electric-sedan concept resembling a mix between Chevrolet Volt and Hyundai Sonata, providing design cues for future Luxgen models.

“Neora perfectly represents LUXGEN’s brand spirit of Think Ahead, and the new form of appearance will be the design cues for LUXGEN’s upcoming models in the future, said Mr. James Shyr, Executive Vice President of HAITEC from Yulon Group. Its streamline flow, and the innovation of lightweight, as well as fuel economy, represent the novelty of LUXGEN’s energy saving future technologies. “

The new Luxgen Neora Concept features an appealing design with LED headlights, a panoramic glass sunroof and gently etched character lines. For the inside, it offers a fine leather interior finish, wood trim, a head-up display and an infotainment system with a 9-inch screen.

The Luxgen Neora Concept is a front-wheel drive car powered by a 241 hp electric motor fueled by a 48 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. This enables the Luxgen Neora to sprints from 0-60 mph in less than 6.5 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. It can travel a total of 250 miles on a full charge and if the battery drains out, it can be quick-charged to 80 percent capacity in an hour (Yulon didn’t provide information on how long will it take for the battery to be fully charged).
