At the recently held 2011 New York Auto Show, the Ferrari 458 Italia has been awarded as the 2011 World Performance Car of the Year.

Because of its extraordinary performance capacity on the track and on the road, the Ferrari 458 Italia was chosen as the 2011 World Performance Car of the Year amongst the list of 14 sports cars winning the majority of the votes of the jury consisting of 66 international journalists from 24 different countries.

On the other hand, the 2011 Nissan LEAF and the 2011 Chevrolet Volt took the 2011 World Car of the Year and the 2011 World Green Car of the Year awards respectively.

Recap: The Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a mid-rear mounted 4.5L V8 making 570-hp at 9,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 398 lb-ft at 6,000 rpm. Mated to a dual-clutch 7-speed F1 gearbox, it can sprints fr0m 0-62 mph in just 3.4 seconds with a top speed of over 202 mph.
