The “road trip to ends all road trips”, said Steve Sutcliffe, a motoring journalist who has the chance to drive the McLaren MP4-12C from Portimao, Portugal to England, a 2,300 km journey.

According to Sutcliffe he would rather have a McLaren MP4-12C instead of a Ferrari 458, why? Check out the video after the jump to hear it from him.

Power for the 2012 McLaren Mp4-12C comes from a 3.8L twin-turbo V8 producing 592-hp at 7,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 443 lb-ft between 3,000 rpm to 7,000 rpm .  Mated to a 7-speed Seamless Shift dual-clutch gearbox (SSG) it can sprints from 0-62 mph in 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph.

Limited numbers of McLaren 12C GT3 race cars will be produced for the 2012 European FIA GT3 Series and will be sale in the United States beginning summer of 2011 with prices starting at $231,400.
