It has been announced that Jan Ake Jonsson, President and CEO of Saab Automobile AB will be stepping down from his position effective on Spyker’s Annual General Shareholders meeting to be held on May 19, 2011.

“I have been with Saab for almost my entire career of 40 years, of which almost six years as the head of Saab Automobile,” said Jonsson. “The last three years have of course been very demanding and forced me to focus on one thing only – my work. Now it is time for me to also spend some time on other things that had to stand back for my duties to Saab.”

According to Saab, the search for Jonsson’s successor has already begun. For the mean time, Victor Muller will temporarily take his position until a new successor has been appointed.
