Nissan GT-R breaks its record at the Nurburgring

Nissan with its 2012 GT-R was able to break its old lap record at the Northern Loop of Nurburgring finishing the lap 2.48 seconds faster.

Nissan released a 12-minute video showing the whole event where the 2012 Nissan GT-R finished the lap in just 7:24.22. That was 2.48 seconds faster than its old record and much faster than its competitors including Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Ferrari Enzo, Pagani Zonda F and the Maserati MC12.

Power for the 2012 Nissan GT-R comes from a VR38DETT 3.8L twin turbo V6 making 530-hp and 488 lb-ft of torque. This allows GT-R to sprints from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds.

Prices for the 2012 Nissan GT-R start at $89,950 for the base model and $95,100 for the Premium and Black Edition.
