Chevrolet Corvette Crash

Hinson Motorsports was able to break its own 224 mph standing mile record but unfortunately something went wrong and the modified Turbo Chevrolet Corvette Z06 crashed while traveling at the speed of over 230 mph, rolling several times before coming to rest on its wheels.

This modified Turbo Corvette Z06 is capable of producing an astonishing 1,738 hp with the help of the performance enhancement package from Hinson Motorsports which includes a rear-mounted twin-turbocharger system, reinforced engine internals, upgraded fuel injectors, and a Quaiffe differential. Unfortunately, all of that is now gone but the good news is that the driver emerged with only minor injuries and Hinson promise to come back with another entry in the Fall.

The 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is powered by a 7.0 Liter LS7 aluminum block V8 with an 11.0:1 compression ratio. It delivers an SAE-certified 505 hp at 6300 rpm and 470 lb-ft of torque at 4800 rpm. It hit the track with a top speed of 198 mph with it weight of only 3,175 lbs.
