At the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, Koenigsegg, a Swedish manufacturer of super cars made one of its super cars even much faster, say hello to the new Koenigsegg Agera R.

Its predecessor the Koenigsegg Agera which debuted at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show is powered by a 4.7L V8 twin-turbocharged producing 910-hp and  737 lb-ft of torque. It can run from 0 to 62 mph in 3.1 seconds with a top speed of 240 mph.

While Koenigsegg Agera with the capital R is powered by a 5.0L twin-turbo V8 producing an astonishing 1,115-hp with a maximum torque of 885 lb-ft . What makes these possible is the E85 fuel, a mixture of up to 85% denatured fuel ethanol and gasoline or other hydrocarbon (HC) by volume.

If you’re going to use 95-octane gasoline instead of E85 biofuel, its output goes down to a still powerful 940-hp and 811 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox it sure run faster than its predecessor though Koenigsegg didn’t confirm yet on its performance figures.

Agera R is equipped with a set of Vortex Generating Rim (VGR) wheels wrapped in Michelin tires specifically developed to perform at 260 mph to match up with Agira R’s power.
