Paris to ban SUV from the city

Dear French SUV owners, in part of an attempt to limit pollution in Paris there are plans of banning your vehicle for city driving.  According to environmental official Denis Baupin, sport utility vehicles and old diesel cars are likely to be targeted in upcoming test restrictions. He advice selling your SUV and get compatible/efficient vehicle to suit city driving.

Paris won’t be the only one implementing the SUV ban, Lyon, Grenoble and Aix-en-Provence for test restrictions on gas-guzzlers later this year or by 2012. In our position we greatly oblique deep study implementing this restrictions and seems the Environment Ministry, officials in each city are still planning on how the restrictions would work and what types of cars would be affected.

So, if everything work as planned, we could hardly see Jeep, Range Rovers, Volvo, Ford or Chevy SUVs rolling in Paris. No, is there any chance of lifting this ban on hybrid or electric SUVs?
