The electric vehicle industry: Predictions for 2019 and beyond

Over the past few years, the electric vehicle industry has been making significant progress, both in the UK and abroad. As consumers have become more aware of how their choices can impact the environment, many have been looking towards electric vehicles as a greener alternative. In the UK, electric vehicle sales and new registrations  reached record numbers last year, with this figure expected to rise once again by the end of 2018. Grange vehicles, retailers of luxury vehicles such as the Range Rover Velar are here to make some predictions for how the electric vehicle industry will progress in 2019 and beyond.

The need for environmentally friendly cars is growing. The price of petrol is continuing to increase due to inflation, and the rising international price of oil. There is also the pressing need to reduce carbon emissions. The UK Government passed the Climate Change Act in 2008 in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 34% by 2020, and 80% by 2050.
