NASCAR Looking Closely at Safety Standards Following Crashes

The auto racing industry lost a number of professional drivers over the years. While Max Mosley and others worked effortlessly to create a series of safety standards for Formula 1 racers, drivers in other organizations found that their events lacked the same level of protection that Formula 1 drivers have. Due in part to a recent incident that occurred during the Daytona 500, NASCAR officials plan to look closely at the safety standards currently in place to determine what they should do next.
