Gemballa, a German tuning company known for providing Porsche aftermarkets parts has presented two awesome tuning kits at the 2011 Dubai International Motor Show. These are the Gemballa Tornado based on the Porsche Cayenne (958) and the Gemballa Mistrale based on the Porsche Panamera (970).
The Gemballa Tornado and the Gemballa Mistrale go through an almost complete reconstruction of their outer bodyshells, most of the steel panels are replaced with light and strong carbon-fiber equivalents. Instead of bonding on new parts, Gemballa engineers completely replace the entire panels with carbon-fiber that use the original mounting points. These new panels include the bonnet, front wings, front and rear bumper, and doors. This extensive used of carbon fiber significantly reduced the weight by 70 kg without compromising strength, safety and comfort.
The Tornado and Mistrale rides on a set of Gemballa’s 22-inch multi-spoke forged alloy wheels. These wheels are stronger than the original 20-inch OE equivalents, but are around the same weight.
Gemballa offers two stages of power upgrade for the twin-turbo V8 engine of the Porsche Panamera and Porsche Cayenne. The first stage provides 580 hp for the Cayenne/Tornado, and 610 hp for the Panamera/Mistrale. While the second stage offers 721 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque for both cars. This is achieved through the use of larger turbochargers, a modified intake system, high efficiency intercoolers, sports exhaust, free-flow catalytic converters and bespoke ECU remapping.
This tremendous amount of power needs a great stopping power which is provided by the new high performance brake system developed in partnership with Brembo. The brake system features massive 411 mm cross-drilled, vented discs with six-piston monoblock calipers in front and 380 mm cross-drilled, vented discs with four-piston fixed calipers at the rear.
While inside Gemballa Tornado and Mistrale is perfectly color-co-ordinated upholstery made from the finest leathers and Alcantara.
Only 30 each of the Gemballa Tornado and Gemballa Mistrale models will be made for selected customers.
