To further educate their buyers of the Ferrari 458 Italia, the Italian automaker has released a very informative and cool video that walks through each and everything about 458 Italia’s F1 inspired racing cockpit.

The video shows descriptions on how to perform the adjustments in the 458 Italia as well as providing explanations on the commands’ ergonomics. This video tries to educate buyers on how to absolutely control the car with a maximum of driving pleasure on the track and on the road.

The Ferrari 458 Italia’s racing cockpit features steering wheel mounted controls derived from Ferrari’s F1 experience. Mounted at the steering wheel are the controls for the horn, indicator switches, F1 gearshift, windshield wipers, Manettino, ligts, and suspension de-coupling. While on the side are controls for Vehicle Dynamic Assistance (VDA) and satellite display.

The Manettino controls provide the driver an easy maneuver for setting up the car from the highest safety to the maximum freedom setting of driving. With its limited electronic control system intervention, it ensures an excellent performance on the track. Shifting gears are also made easier because shift paddles were designed bigger and closer to the steering wheel. While the VDA helps evaluate the operating procedures of the car the suspension de-coupling improves handling on bumpy roads.

The Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a mid-rear mounted 4.5L V8 making 570-hp at 9,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 398 lb-ft at 6,000 rpm. Mated to a dual-clutch 7-speed F1 gearbox, it can sprints fr0m 0-62 mph in just 3.4 seconds with a top speed of over 202 mph.
