For over a decade, United States will again experience the 4-cylinder power that BMW offers with its new BMW Z4 sDrive28i Roadster being the first model in the U.S. to feature the company’s new powerful, efficient and clean TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine.
The TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine is another parf of BMW’s on-going development of BMW EfficientDynamics. It is a combination of a twin-scroll turbocharging technology with high-precision direct injection and BMW’s Valvetronic throttle-less control system. This combination further improve the performance and at the same time reduces emissions and fuel consumption.
The 2011 BMW Z4 sDrive28i is powered by a 2.0L TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine producing 240 hp at 5,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 260 lb-ft at 1,250 rpm. BMW provide no information on its performance figures but compared to the 3.0L inline-6 engine that it replaces in the BMW Z4 sDrive30i it produces more power and torque.
The new BMW Z4 sDrive28i will hit US showrooms this fall.
